I greatly enjoy being part of Actually Useful, and the crazy, fun conversations that happen alongside the drive to support business owners with real, effective marketing. Tim of Ruffell Creative has captured everyone's style perfectly in this 'About Us' video. Although can't believe the opening statement is me talking about my cat!
Actually Useful was formed a couple of years ago, and like any startup, has evolved since then with some fresh faces and a renewed energy. The mission is still the same though – to let Cantabrians know there’s a wealth of marketing know-how here in Christchurch.
Collectively we were all hearing rumbles from local businesses heading to Auckland or Wellington to create their marketing strategy, brand, production work or lead generation, as they believed that here, the only options were the three big creative agencies if you needed to tap into a ‘brains trust’.
Lurking in the awesome new cafes popping up, the cool offices, co-working spaces and walking around town was an emerging mass of talent, working in every element of marketing, from the broader topics of strategy and brand, to deep functional capability in web design, digital marketing, analytics, sales engagement and great video content. Everyone was busy doing their own work beautifully and hearing that there was a growing demand by their customers to work with a trusted network of people across the range of marketing.
Actually Useful’s mission is to connect capable, credible marketers with each other, and work to meet client needs, with the altruistic vision of creating more jobs here in Canterbury. We’ve got some awesome case studies underway to showcase the benefit that’s delivered to customers (think over $100K savings, complete confidence in the marketing moving forward and the feel-good factor of finding out the two degrees story).
In the meantime there is a tonne of great advice and tips on the Actually Useful site – short fun videos and blogs too so head on over and watch, like, share and enjoy the content Hopefully you find it …. actually useful!
